THE CHOSEN ONES ( PART SIXTY THREE )

from the ABC set Stories

It was near daybreak and many people had travelled
through the night. Bad hunters had suddenly forgotten about their evil deeds, mesmerized by the
light in the sky.

It was a strange atmosphere, so quiet, even the birds had stopped singing, it was almost as if they
knew something was different.

As the Sun came up, over the horizon...suddenly the
light went out, everybody looked up in awe, taking
a deep breath, mouths open, for there before their
eyes, floated four giant Crystals.

The Crystal Ships hovered above them, as the Sun
rose...its beams of light caught the Crystal Ships...and sent prisms of light all across the
Earth.

Children started to chase the rainbow of colours,
but they kept disappearing. Some children were not
as frightened as their parents, to them it seemed
this was one big adventure.

Martha smiled, she took her bag of Crystals and
tipped some into her hand, playing with them,
while she looked up to the Sky saying, "if I be
dead tomorrow, I be the happiest women. I'll go to
me grave, knowing it all be true. Oh! beautiful
Crystals."

Suddenly without warning, four beams of light shone
from out of the Crystals, hitting the earth. Some
people ran away to hide in fear, but Jonah would
never show fear. "Stay where you are!" he shouted
to his men.

Two figures from each beam, seemed to float down to
the ground, Jonah still stood his ground. As they
stepped down, one of the figures walked towards
Jonah. "Stand back!" said Jonah, "don't come any
further," he said reaching for his spear.

"My name is Addie," the figure said, "we come in
peace, we wish you no harm."

Jonah stood staring at this man, who came from the
skies, his heart was racing and he was extremely
frightened, but he was not about to let his men see
his fear. He turned to Addie, he said, "what do you
want?" in a gruff way.

Addie turned to face Jonah, "we have been monitoring the planet, we have seen a lot of unrest, we will not tolerate power trippers."

Jonah interrupted Addie, "what do you mean, what's
a power tripper?"

Addie replied, "it's the name we give to someone,
who decides they are in charge, but uses their power against their own people in a bad way, you
are such a person Jonah, we will not tolerate it.
We are here to programme you and all like you, we
are the descendents of the original ancestors of
the Chosen Ones. Our Earth was destroyed, our
ancestors discovered a Planet called Obsidian,
which is where we come from. We have learnt to live
in peace, you are our descendents and all that we
wish for, is that you live in peace and harmony,
not only with each other, but with your surroundings too. Our people brought you to this
beautiful planet, we want you to respect it."

As if not really listening, Jonah smiled...looking
at his men, then back at Addie. "I have many men to
protect me, there are only a few of you, you will
never take me."

Addie spoke again, "so that is your choice, to be
forced?"

Jonah without warning, turned and started to run
away. Addie sent a ray of light at Jonah, from a
glass tube, with a button on the side, it knocked
Jonah to the ground, he was out cold.

Hi Jenny,
Now the Crystal folk are here will all be well? Or do you have a further twist in the tale?

Hi Steve,

as Frank Sinatra said:- And now the time is near, I
must face my final curtain. Sorry we're nearing the
end. But there's still a little way to go yet, I will
have to leave you in suspense Steve, hope you enjoy
the rest of the story.

Thankyou so much for reading and the great comments,
much appreciated.

Jenny.

What a gorgeous image you create, Jenny with the crystal ships.

Just one small typo, fourth paragraph, should be 'its beam of light'. As a rule of thumb, Jenny, if you can't subtitute 'it is' within a given sentence, 'its' will probably be correct. I.e. It's cold and the frost has done its worse in my garden.

That's probably about as clear as mud, but it's the best way I can described it;-)

I am now very much on tenter hooks about Jonah, but I know I must wait and see. Enjoyed this one very much, Jenny.

I seems as though they may be saved now from evil. I hope so. I am looking forward to reading on- yes I do wish it would go on for a while yet. I loved the image of the crystal ships as well.

Thanks Tina, that was a real silly mistake, because
I actually do know when to put in its and it's. I
wanted this story to be as good as it can be, only
with your great help, have I managed to get there.

I'm glad that you could get the picture of the Crystal Ships.

Thankyou for continuing to read and telling me you
enjoy the story.

Oh what a fool that Jonah is! Loved this chapter, Jennifer. Particularly liked -

'The Crystal Ships hovered above them, as the Sun
rose...its beams of light caught the Crystal Ships...and sent prisms of light all across the
Earth.

Children started to chase the rainbow of colours,
but they kept disappearing.'

Brilliant image.
