The Fairies Will Fly Tonight

from the ABC set Poems

In the deepest depths of the Forest
there was much darkness - but every
now and again small lights would
appear exposing their beauty...

luminous - floating in and out and
between boughs of trees - where wild
sage and mint flourish and mushrooms
and toadstools are in abundance...

this place is safe from the hands of
humans - though animal footprints do
prevail, the only sounds are the
cracking of twigs and bats take flight,

the secrets that the Forest hold...
are treasures like precious diamonds,
unhindered by man - so focus on the
light, a fluorescent glimmmer of hope -
the Fairies will fly tonight.

Gosh, Jenny - I do hope they do;-) Seriously though, a lovely poem and you paint a colourful picture with your words, especially here:-

"luminous - floating in and out and
between boughs of trees - where wild
sage and mint flourish and mushrooms
and toadstools are in abundance...".

Very much enjoyed, and I shall keep a look-out tonight;-)

Nice the fairies have their special place not touched by humans. It's lovely to imagine it and you gave a great picture.

Hi Tina,

I'm really pleased you liked this piece, my
imagination was really working overtime with
the thought of these beautiful lights.

Now I wonder if you saw any luminous lights
last night!

Thankyou for reading and leaving a comment,
always appreciated.

Hi Pia,

glad you could get the picture of the forest
untouched by humans, it's kind of how I think, it's where the fairies would be.

Hope you are well and thankyou for reading.

Hi there MaggieG,

you know, you could be right, I never thought of a
childrens story coming out of this piece, but I will
have to give it some thought, trouble is there has
been so many childrens stories about fairies, it
would take a lot of thought.

Anyway thankyou so much for reading and I'm glad
you enjoyed reading.

I really loved the stanza that began with "luminous lights" - fairies are always a favourite of mine, so pleased to find them here in your pristine forest.

"trouble is there has

Here's a quote I love

" Everything has already been said. What is important now is HOW you say it "

MaggieG, I totally agree with you, it's not what
you say, but the way you say it.

Thankyou for your quote, I'll bare it in mind.
