Climbing up the Tor,
the only perceived sound,
is that of the wind.
The climb is arduous,
but definitely worth the trouble.
Half way up Steves cap blows off,
we watch as it goes,
flying through the air,
Steve tries to chase it,
but to no avail,
he fails to retrieve it.
Finally we stand at the top,
just the two of us,
it feels like we are,
the only two people left in the world.
Looking out at the vastness,
the wind wrapping around me,
I feel at one with nature,
we can see for miles,
a panoramic view,
that will never be forgotten.
The air is so fresh,
like a cup of spring water,
the wind blowing from the North,
as I try to maintain an upright position,
here up on Glastonbury Tor,
I almost feel I could fly.
There are no birds to be seen,
this I found very strange,
may be it was the time of year,
or may be we were to high up.
Clouds start to build,
as snow starts to fall,
so we shelter in the old chapel,
we steal a kiss,
who cares we are the only people,
I wonder how many other couples,
have managed to steal a kiss.
All to soon the snow stops,
we start to make our way,
back down to the bottom,
we manage to retrieve Steves cap.
I think that everyone,
should go to the top of the Tor,
at least once in their life,
it's such a spiritual place to go.

a wonderful nature experience Jenny. I liked your poem about the Tor. I can almost see the view myself. Well at least I can use my imagination can't I?

Hello Pia,
You should have seen it, the view is spectacular,
I am glad that you could capture the view, if only
in your imagination, we did nearly get blown away
at one point.
Thankyou for commenting.
