You know when your in love
it's not a look...or a touch,
but that tender kiss
that makes you go weak...
so you forget everything
but that kiss,
flesh trembles...body weak,
anticipation of that kiss...
a brush of his lips
across my cheek
as tenderly our lips meet,
passion builds at the
gentleness of his touch,
a fire building inside
rising like a Phoenix
from the ashes...
to that final explosion
as many fireworks
are released...
at the tenderness
of his kiss.

I thought that you structured the poem very well so as to best convey the idea of passion building inside.
I really like the way that the last part of the poem climbs towards a climax.
passion builds at the
gentleness of his touch,
a fire building inside
rising like a Phoenix
from the ashes...
to that final explosion
as many fireworks
are released...
at the tenderness
of his kiss.

Great one for the (IP)
stanza lines:
Rising like a phoenix
from the ashes...
to that explosion
as many fireworks
are released...
at the tenderness
of his kiss.
Strange I was only singing
indoors the "It's in his kiss".
Was it "The Supremes."

P.S What does I.P stand for - know I will kick myself when you tell me but its driving me mad- can't work it out
skinner_jennifer | May 31, 2011 - 11:35
Hi there V.C.
First I'd like to say thankyou so much for reading
this poem and letting me know your thoughts. It was
really nice to hear from you. I'm well, hope you are
too.
I.P. stands for Inspiration point. Each week Tony
gives you a subject or idea for a story, or poem,
or whatever you want to write, just to, as he would
say, 'get your taste buds going.'
Don't worry about not knowing, I didn't even know
what a cherry was for, when I first came on here,
I just thought it was a pretty picture in the corner
of the writing.
Hope that's helped, Oh! you normally get the I.P.
come up in the New forum topics, on the right hand
side.
Thanks again for your kind comment.
Jenny.

So sorry about getting to this one late, Jenny and I have more episodes of your story to catch up on too, and I promise I will, tomorrow at the latest.
I think Rachel sums up this lovely poem so very aptly when she says 'it is a kiss to the senses'.
Really beautiful, this one;-)

Hi Tina,
firstly I'd like to say, please don't worry about
not commenting on my work, you've been ill and it
can make you feel tired and less able to spend time
going through all the pieces of work on here. I
completely understand.
I'm glad you enjoyed reading this poem, it's nice
to know that, and I really do appreciate your comment.
Hope you feel completely better soon.
