The Magic of the Wood

from the ABC set Poems

When magic pervaded the woodland all around,
The mighty Oaks stood tall and proud.
Their spirits face peered from wrinkled bark,
listening for sounds in the dark.

There was a rustling of the leaves,
It was only the fairies
dancing in the trees.
The queen of fairies,
tossed her jeweled hair,
as she breathed that cool night air.

In the moonlit summers night,
the many coloured moths
take flight.
Where they flew, no mortals knew,
but the fairies had a clue.

If you should spy a fairie ring,
don't ever try to stand within,
for if you do it is said,
if you see a fairie,
then your dead.

Next time your walking in a wood,
you see a hole in a tree,
remember that it just might be,
a home for a tree elf family.

But though this is a fairie tale,
some truth in it could prevail,
for as air we breathe,
we cannot see, sometimes things
are not what they seem to be.

Just a little point:

your = the possessive

you're = you are

To see which one it should be, try reading the sentence aloud with 'you are' in it - if it still makes sense, you need the 'you're' version.
