MY DREAM

from the ABC set Poems

Oh! the joy of being young,
of chasing dreams in songs we sung,
I danced sky-clad till day is done,
my naked body in the sun,

now the leaves toss about in a dance,
I move with them as if in a trance,
with fear in my heart and trembling hands,
I wonder what's happened to our lands,

why do I see day after day,
people's dreams taken away,
struggling hard to make their way,
in a world where evil seems to pay?

I want to feel the wind in my face,
see leaves tossed all over the place,
where every creed, colour and race,
can transform this earth with a touch of faith.

This is beautiful, Jenny, with some really effective imagery.

'I danced sky-clad till day is done'.

A lovely line.

Much enjoyed.

Hello skinnerJ.
Agree with Sand lady.
I liked...

"...where every creed, colour and race,
can transform this earth with a touch of faith..."

Will keep fingers crossed and wish for that.

Kind regards

Hi ScoZen,

yes I shall cross fingers, toes and whatever else
I can cross that we can transform this earth.

Hi FB,

I really do appreciate your kind words, it's strange
but you can dance sky-clad when your young without
feeling any inhibitions, I know I did, especially at
festivals, but now I wouldn't be seen dead dancing
in front of complete strangers. How times change.

Thankyou for reading and commenting.

Hi Pia,

what a great thing, if everyone could put their
thoughts together and really hope strongly enough
to transform this earth, what do they call it?
mind control. It's alright Pia I'm just dreaming
again.

Thankyou for reading and commenting, you know I
always appreciate your comments.
