Lavender blue, memories of you Sue,
red roses too, next to lavender blue.
The honey suckle smells sweet as the bees
buzz in the heat.
But the grass is so dry, where no rain fell
from the sky.
Butterflies hop from flower to flower spreading
their nectar hour after hour.
The birds are chirping in the trees, as I sit
here writing this poem for thee.
Its so peaceful here in my garden,
watching mother nature, I often think there are
fairies here, no don't laugh I'm not on the wine
or the beer.
If only the creatures could talk, the beatles,
worms, spiders and ants, I think they would say,
"its good to be here crawling amongst the plants."

yes,it is a beautiful poem I agree as Silver -Spun-sand says.
If only the Woodpecker could tap out a message his beak on the bark
and maybe you'll hear the skylark
The sun will shine on you
and if you can feel the Fairies
then they are there to
do write more of your friend sue.

Sue was a gardener and loved nothing more than
being and working in her garden. She loved to grow
Vegetables and I do too.
I miss her and her advice so much.

Thanks for your comments julie,
No she was not young, she was 58 when she died.
But I think she was young at heart.
A very wise and beautiful person.
That is all I have to say now, otherwise Iam going to
end up crying.

A lovely poem Jenny, and so touching to link Sue with the garden and remember her when you go into it.
