My Vampire

from the ABC set Poems

I saw him stood by the chair, he cast his presence with a stare. He drew me in and suddenly I was next to him. His eyes pierced me like a knife, he said he wanted me for his wife. He touched my hand Icould not stand, Suddenly the room was spinning, I hit the floor his presence winning. Again he fixed me with that stare, I could not move I would not dare. I don't know what happened next except I hurt my head, I woke up with a bitten neck alone upon my bed. I tried to move my heart was beating fast, I felt so cold I could feel his skin then I gasped. He had taken my very soul, I knew that was his goal. I waited he came to me the following night, I really felt elated. This time I went with him, I knew I had to go, he took me to a cave we went way below. I don't know how we got there, he just simply took my hand, then we simply floated away across the land. His power he was casting, he said our love was everlasting. But he said I would need to feed upon the blood of others, I even fed on my mother, father, sisters and brothers. My lover told me of his past life, he took me places and showed me the tomb of his past wife. He told me he was once a peasant farmer, who one day was accosted by a female charmer, who was greatly fascinating her looks and charms were devastating. She seemed to lay a spell on him, then suddenly obtained him. She said, "You will be mine forever, and that I will endeavour to give you powers beyond your wildest dreams you never ever would believe." And so he gave to me what he had aquired, I took these powers and felt very inspired. I was a special vampire and of that I will never tire.

i wrote a short about a vampire once -a line from it went something like this as i recall - ...there will come a time long in your future when you will have done all that you wished when you have fulfilled your dreams then you will find that there is only one thing left - an end... Could you get sick of immortality?

This is very cleverly ryhmed, and I distinctly remember you saying you like vampires so the title stood out from the rest. A good poem, well done!

Hi JackJakins,
Don't know if you will ever get to read this, but
I have only just read it, Date August 3rd. Just
wanted to say thanks for your comment.

Hi Darkenwolf,
I would certainly not want to be a vampire,
although I do love life. I certainly want to
carry on living for a very long time.
Jenny.

Anyone who says 'seriously and openly' that they like vampires-in my book fit into the same category as those who seriously and openly claim to have been molested by aliens and had a philosophical conversation with Elvis whilst sight seeing in Malta.

I've never claimed to like vampires, but I was very
amused at your comment and found it quite funny that
you took my poem seriously. I wrote this over a year
ago, when I first joined abc tales and a poem was all
it was.

But thankyou for reading and commenting, it's good
to know people read the old stuff.

Jenny.

It was not meant to cause offence, I am just a clumsy oaf sometimes! I have read a large section of your 'old stuff' I generally find people have hidden pieces of magic in their back catalogue.

No offence taken.
