There was a balmy breeze
cooling the night air
on a hot summer's night in Palm Beach,
a beautiful coloured sun set sky
reached out as the sun sinks low
beyond the horizon,
taking one last peek
at the silver lady of the night,
later the soft, velvet, golden sand glows
in the moonlight as camp fires burn,
beneath waving palm trees
on a hot summer's night,
three Latino girls sway,
dancing to the rhythm of the guitars
their dark skin, slender bodies
move in time with the long-bodied drums,
tipping their heads with passion
they sweep their long raven black hair
from their faces,
the dominant Don Juan looks on in delight
two minders each side of him
watch with interest,
their bodies on fire
with passion for the raven beauties.

Gosh, this really does 'sizzle', Jennie;-) You really took me there - a far cry from this wild and windy, mad-March day.
Much enjoyed.

Thankyou so much Tina,
I wasn't sure whether to go further with this one,
my son said I kind of left it in limbo, but then
I thought sometimes it's just best left to the
imagination, so I decided to let the reader go where
they want with it.
I think I made the right decision.
Glad I could take you to warmer climates,
thankyou again for reading and your great comment.
Jenny.

Hi Pia,
thankyou for reading, yes the Palm Beach in my
imagination is a beautiful place to which I would
love to go, thankyou for your great comment.

Hi Sue,
I really appreciate that you said it was well
written, I'm very happy that you found it exotic.
Thankyou so much for reading and commenting.

My wife's cousin lives at West palm Beach. Your version is much better - no portly Americans....
fatboy74 | March 11, 2011 - 22:15
Like Tina says a real sizzler stuffed with the exotic. Well done Jenny. :-)

Hi geordietaf,
I actually went on google map to West Palm Beach and
North Palm Beach, it looks an amazing place, though
I don't suppose in reality they would allow camp
fires on the beach, I know they can be quite strict
about things like that, but I can imagine what you
mean about the portly Americans, we saw plenty of
them when we were in Florida many years ago.
Anyway thankyou so much for reading this piece and
for your great comment.
Jenny.

Hi Fatboy,
thankyou for your kind comment, it's strange the
ideas that come into your mind, this one just kind
of took off, from looking at Palm Beach on google
map and thinking what if!
But thankyou for reading and again for the great
comment.
Jenny.

I really like this one. I think you captured the scene well and theres something of a parallel between the beauty of night time and the beauty of those 'raven haired' girls. Full of tropical romance and exoticism.
Thank you, Jenny for your beautiful words.

Thankyou well-wisher,
that was a lovely comment, yes you are right about
the beauty of the night time and the beauty of the
raven haired girls, I don't suppose it would have
had the same ring to it, if it had been during the
day.
Thankyou for reading and again for the great
comment.

That you for that balmy night, don't we Brits all need some of those now. I'm surprised that you got some much from a picture, it read as though you'd experienced it yourself. Lovely strong imagery.
skinner_jennifer | March 23, 2011 - 10:20
Thanks Sooz006,
I wish it had been something I had experienced,
wouldn't have minded being one of those girls with
the wonderful figures.
Anyway it was kind of you to read this, glad you
enjoyed.
Jenny.
