Romance Anonimo

from the ABC set Poems

While gentle guitars
of the night,
strum out their
melodic Flamenco,

romance fills the air
and lovers walk the
old cobbled streets
hand in hand,

jasmine carried on the
heat of humid passions...
their hearts beating
swift and rapid,

aromas of Paella
fill the air of little
side street restaurants,

the heat of the night
lures sun...bronzed bodies
to sit and relax,

they share a pitcher of
Sangria and talk of their
future dreams of tomorrow,

as the moon's fullness sits
high in the sky...the stars
twinkle to the gentle sounds
of Romanoe Anonimo.

Thankyou Tina - I'm so glad you found it romantic.
Don't know if you know the tune, Romance Anonimo
but it's really beautifully played on the Spanish
Guitar.

Thankyou for reading and letting me know.

Thanks so much Tina,

I was just sat listening to some Flamenco music,
when this poem just came to me and I was so over
the moon to get the cherries.

I'm so glad you liked it, hope you manage to find
the piece of music, I'm sure you will love it.

A real poem for the senses, Jenny. So many sights and smells intertwine in this poem to make it beautiful. Well done on the cherries!

Thought this was really lovely, Jenny. Very romantic, I could smell the smells of the street, the aroma of food seeping through cafe doorways, see people sitting at tables outside, drinks in hand, eye to eye, maybe in love or dreaming of it, the last of the day's sun going down and a a handsome young flamenco guitarist striking up... lovely atmosphere and imagery. I have to say that in the last year your writing has improved beyond recognition. Well done.

Hi there sue,

how are you? it's been so long since
I've heard from you, hope you are well.

I think you summed this poem up so well, that was
exactly what I was trying to portray, you really
got the picture and you know the music is so
beautiful, I don't know if you've heard it, but
you should look it up, you will understand why I was
so inspired, by it.

Thankyou very much for your kind comment.

Will do, Jenny. I love spanish guitar and flamenco music - especially the dancers and the castinets, love the way the young women tie their hair and everything about it.

I'm okay by the way, thanks. Hope you are too.

Hi! jenny, well deserved cherries!
Loved it all, made me think of Spanish
costume, I have laying my wardrobe and castanets.
Plus a tambourine, bought love trying not in costume,so long,in a sale, wear high heels in a sale. Fascinating to watch. Mine likes "Hose Feliciano" he has. And our elderly group, watched Flamenco and couple dancing fab: Was it "Blue Spanish Eyes". Yes, never been abroad, but like Sue Dinum says, I can get a vivid
picture of all by your poem. Have you been to Spain then! What is anonimo?
JHave a good bank holiday.

Hi julie,

I'm not sure what anonimo means, but the name
Romance Anonimo is the name of a piece of music,
it's so beautiful, you should listen to it.

As far as going to Spain julie, sorry no, except
I have been to Lanzerotti, which I suppose is a
Spanish Island, but that was back in the 1980s,
it's probably changed a lot since I went.

I'm glad that you enjoyed reading this piece and
that's amazing you having a Spanish costume, they
are so beautiful and colourful and I love the
tamborine, brilliant! thanks for letting me know.

Hope you are having a good bank holiday.
