The crowd waited with watchful eyes...
when to my amazement and my surprise,
the entertainer in his disguise
moved the cups around clockwise,
I knew the one I had money riding,
as I watched it was hypnotizing...
position changing...fingers flying,
he was good so was his timing,
so we reached the final end,
I really couldn't comprehend...
"which one was it?" I asked my friend,
"I really don't know...with his slight of hand,"
I have to admit I was bereft,
I pointed to the cup upon my left...
he looked at me our eyes met,
he lifted the cup I'd lost my bet.

Hi Rachel,
thankyou for reading this poem. Magic is a strange
phenomenon, which can be very hard to understand,
inless you know how they do it.
Magic fascinates me, it makes me wonder.
Glad you enjoyed reading this piece. Thankyou for
your comment, it's always appreciated.

Me too - though the guys with the cups are more conman than magician ;o) I prefere that bloke Derren Brown and his 'tricks of the mind', oh and that stunt Copperfeild did where he flew through those silver rings, still has me in amazement. Real magic, I think, is on its way out and is seldom seen as what it is - I know you know what I mean by that from our previous chats! That side of magic fascinates me, too :)

Hi Rachael,
yes I know what you mean about conmen, that's why
it's called Thimblerig, because it's rigged, but
it still fascinates me to watch them do what they
do, with such a slight of hand.
Thanks for coming back to me.
Jenny.
