TIDYING UP THE GARDEN

from the ABC set Poems

Spent today tidying up the garden,
It's loads of fun to do,
cutting back the trees and bushes,
is hard work, but rewarding too.

Doing a bit of digging,
getting rid of the weeds,
so I can plant next years harvest,
for the food that we need.

This year has been a good one,
infact it's been the best,
lettuce's and carrots,
we have at last had success.

Lovely green tomatoes,
upon my window sill,
soon they will be red and ripened,
they taste so good in a sauce with dill.

Runner beans we had to many,
so we gave alot away,
loads of potatoes,
my partner dug them up to bag away.

All to soon the day is over,
pack everything away,
hope it's nice tomorrow,
so I can do more another day.
