I slept in the green wheelbarrow,
Just for the night,
It really is quite comfy,
If you get it right.
I put my hands where my feet should be,
Put a bucket on my head,
Covered myself with a lawnmower,
It made a lovely bed.
I dreamed of fishing in the sky
To catch a toady bird,
They never really swim, you know,
Cos that would be absurd.
I fished 'til I was good and tired,
And then I went to bed,
I slept in the green wheelbarrow
With a bucket on my head.
I dreamed of paddling like a sheep
And knitting with a cow,
I dreamed of rhubarb singing hymns
When yesterday was now.
I like to sleep in wheelbarrows,
It really does me good,
I wake up looking like a horse,
But one that's made of wood.
My mum says I should have a bed,
And be like other boys,
She put me in the garden shed
And took away my toys.
That's where I found the wheelbarrow,
Stashed behind a sprout,
It really is quite comfy if
You let your legs hang out.
I slept in the green wheelbarrow,
But only for the night,
I wouldn't do it in the day
Cos that would not be right.

I like the way it drifts off into craziness. I liked the hymn singing rhubarb and the sprout for stashing.
