Song of the Sultry South

from the ABC set My Poems

In my basement, on some sackin’,
In Waco, Tennessee,
I spotted coons a-rackin’,
And boy did they spot me.

I sat me down to think it through
In New York, Arizona,
I didn’t have the slightest clue,
But boy I had a boner.

I danced beneath the starry skies
In Jaipur town, Montana,
I paid outright for pumpkin pies
And rented a banana.

And that is how my life has been,
In China, near Las Vegas,
I’m often heard but rarely seen;
My rhyming is outrageous.

If I could have my time again.
In Oregon, Kentucky
I’d leap just like a cuckold hen
And always come home mucky.

This is the ending of my song
From Wisconsin, Nevada
If there’s no cherry ere too long
I’ll have to try much harder.

Well, as Crackersville I really really really really like your poem. And I'm sure as, I'm sure you know... I'd say the same thing.

Thank you Cracker. If you didn't have your hands full parenting Footsie, I'd ask you to adopt me.
