All Gods

All Gods

All gods are made of chocolate
That’s how they keep disciples sweet
Their hypocrisy is under the carpet
The false morals lined up neat

All gods are made with electricity
Invisible and dangerous to touch
They can remove your limbs at will
And tease you with a crutch

All gods are psychiatrists
Slowly disabling your mind
They melt you down and keep your eyes
And leave you walking blind

All gods can invent new enemies
Pointing fingers at those who enquire
Asking questions that come with thorns
Could send you into the fire

All religion is manufactured
Built across many lands
It takes peace and turns it into war
And nobody is holding hands

All faith is a misguided deed
If guns speak louder than words
And the politicians who claim god helped them aim
Makes religion even more absurd

This is not a message from hell
It’s just an enquiring mind
Wherever you search for your inner peace
I hope war isn’t far behind.

Well done on your well deserved cherry, smokejack. This poem is honest, direct and above all echoes thoughts that I have had!

eg,
'All religion is manufactured
Built across many lands
It takes peace and turns it into war
And nobody is holding hands...'

The last verse is a perfect ending.

I love an enquiring and cynical mind - and I loved this too! Nice
