There is a thin line

There is a Thin Line

There is a thin line between
Life and death
Love and hate
How many of us find that out
When it’s far too late?

There are words never spoken
And thoughts add to the confusion
Why do we wait until we’re broken
Before facing up to a cruel illusion

There is a thin line between
Noise and silence
Warm and cold
How many of us find that out
When we are far too old

There are feelings not expressed
And minds that can’t collide
Where sleep brings you no rest
In a home where you can’t hide

There is thin line between
Anger and peace
Smiles and tears
How many of us suffer this
In silence for all those years

There are demons to be crucified
And regrets to be addressed
You can’t resurrect what has died
But at least we can confess

That it’s a thin line between
Hope and hell
Scar and heal
How many of us find that out
By never saying how we feel?
