Falcon Lake

The deep calm
Sullen carpet waters
Undisturbed still
The skin of a smooth pebble
Thrown into secret eyes

Glass circles ripple
A flask of malcontent
In curling torrents
So human sullen endeavour
A striving after wind

Swoop falcon thunder
Leaves and trees soar
Screaming chasm awry
Talon wings swift collide
A fish from the water

Quiet mountain pond
The cinerary dark sings
Puddle drip and wing
On the shore I am breathless
Astonished wordless

Gush, slither beak
Silver-quivering tip flown
A sharp feather descends
Assailed, broken ruined to die
The parapets of my eyes
