you are there
in the holes, in the mirrors
of my imagination, comforting
kindness cuts, flashes
of true emotion floods
then flutters.
you soothe me, your bright halo
burns my blood
makes smooth its course
sublimates vipers of poison
into intricate patterns of waking discoveries,
shudders in valiant joys
cheerleading its way into happiness.
shall i praise you with my tongue,
twist sounds to glamourize you, silver you
into the belly of umbrella-clouds?
if only words could reach
your sacred existence (pain but an echo
from nowhere, a shield of individuality?)
continue, snapping words
to tell you
thank you?
the more I speak, the more i see
that understanding suffering
heals our hearts and clothes
our wounds with fancy.
Simply accept these few words from my soul
as i say...

This is beautiful, Steve...and the third stanza has to be my favourite.

Thank you. Many times, I seek healing in pleasures for the pain I've experienced. I want good food, sexy movies or the ULTIMATE experience in an amusement park. Pleasure does not heal or cancel out pain though. It makes it worse many times.
So I've started to try other people's pain as well as my own.
