I may resemble the old grey moon
More than the radiant golden sun,
But as for my character,
It is simple-
The gold blocks out the grey.
I may resemble the old grey moon
More than the radiant golden sun,
But as for my character,
It is simple-
The gold blocks out the grey.

The first five thousand years are the worst, it's all downhill after that.
I'm not sure it's so much that people age as they get tired.
I've seen old men at twenty and young at eighty five.
Mind you, even immortals tend to show their age when they're ill.
Nowadays the trend seems be to paint a Dorian and let that get younger as you age.

Lol.
I think it's important to be young at heart, however young or old you are...or at least have a go.

Good one, Sundayschild. We're as young as we think we are.

It's nice to stay young at heart, but sometimes there are days when you are ill, you wonder what it's all about. A bit like having a bad hair day when you're young, only more painful, plus it's a bit depressing when you suddenly see everything heading south at a rate of knots! Nice little poem. Val

Simple poems are sometimes the best ones :)

When I resigned from the Foreign Exchange bureau after six years of drudging youth wasting. I was given a staff exit form. In the box marked 'any other comments you wish us to consider' I wrote: 'Stay gold, Ponyboy.'
Anyway - reminds me of The Outsiders - it's pithy and rather good.
Thanks.
JM.
