I Was, I Am.....

Too young to
have been hip
but old enough
to have been hot
then cool, and
several incarnations later,
cool again when cool
was really hot!

I was a groovy chick
but barely awesome,
and if ever rude or wicked
I really didn’t aim to be.

When I was fly
I was cool again
and some said fresh
but also solid.

I’m still not phat
tho’ sometimes heavy,
been mean but never
tight nor bitchin’.

Then once or twice
I was labelled funky.
Even now I might
be cool from time to time,
but fear I am more likely
in my advancing dotage
to be recognised
as random.
