The Bus

from the ABC set Lurve Ramblings

I watched you get on the bus
Every morning
I never even knew your name.
My friend asked me what was wrong;
I was groaning
If he’d known he’d say ‘you’re insane’
It was on one frosty day;
Caught you yawning
And longed for your tongue there contained
I nearly arose up to ask;
But stilled; warning
A heart unjustly restrained
The time just blew; a whirlwind!
Its wake; mourning
Nothing ventured; so nothing gained
Will we ever meet again?
My love soaring
On a bus if it’s preordained
Or has it been destined not;
Cupid snoring,
His arrow, a quiver, untrained

I agree with the above- this is a very spellbinding poem, especially because it seems so familiar. The last line is a spit'n'polish finish.

Well done.

Nathan.
