Blusher on the face of the forest;
cosmetically enhancing
like the pink cheeks of a lover.
A summer Christmas tree,
sunlight jangling in its branches.
Its fruit will be generous; sweet.
But I would feast
on the blossom
until my eyes are satiated
and my palate brushed dry.

How much you have said, Chris, with these few, carefully chosen words that so describe that beautiful picture. I liked it... a lot:-)

Before anyone asks; 'Palate' is meant to be spelled that way (could it be a pun?) lol.

Thanks Tina, it truly is a wonderful sight in full bloom; I defy anyone not to stand and admire. Glad you enjoyed. ;)

Hi Sarah, Lucky you; I have to travel a bit to see one of these wonderful works of nature, wish I had one outside the back door. I am told the soil here where I live is to acidic. Thanks for reading ;)

Thanks Magic, not sure that I have any particular style; I'm a Philistine, who just sort of writes it down as it feels...if I'm lucky, it works lol. ;)
