The Clown

from the ABC set shamrock's ramblings

Silence fills the void,
that is the lonely night,
where once a lovers sigh,
fell warm upon my face.

Friends depart and lie
in beds of secret smiles,
or gasps, that only they
can share and fear to waste.

Greasepaint comes away
in sobs, and tearfully
reveals the frown, that lies
in hiding, 'neath the paste.
