He Came Home I.P.

from the ABC set Lurve Ramblings

He came home,
she met him at the door.
'I knew you would', she said
laying a hand on his cheek.
'Will you not take me in your arms?'
but deep within her heart,
she knew he could not;
those days were past.
She leaned toward him
and felt the coldness.
She hesitated, momentarily,
mouth dry, eyes damp.
A sob escaped, to spite her.
She laid a hand upon his chest,
'I will have one kiss!'
She laid her lips on his,
closing her eyes recalling.
'Welcome home son.'
Someone lit a candle,
as she sat beside him
accepting condolences.

I can't even begin to attempt to understand how this feels, but that is one of the reasons why I love poetry. It presents a gift in the form of words, of which the unmeasurable potential you can use to capture something so deep, grand and indescribable in that small chink of time when it's most human, just so that in some small way, you can appreciate the life you have a little more.

A huge well done from me.

Nathan.

Well I thought too it was so
real and going to say sad.
"Will you not take me in your arms?"
but deep within her heart,
She knew he could not;
those days were past
She leaned towards him
and felt the coldness.
Make a good play don't you think?
all the best for the (IP)
