Moving

from the ABC set Lurve Ramblings

It is time for the big goodbye.
I have dreaded it; put it to the back of my mind.
I have walked every room, several times,
leaving yours until last.

I have searched every inch,
of every floorboard, tile and wall, finding
a memory, clinging like a mollusc,
to a rock, on each one.

I stand, in the place your chair resided,
where you sat to tell me stories, that excited or calmed,
depending, which mood, you read in my eyes;
you knew, better than I.

I scan the floor, seeking
the shadows of long dried tears, that bore elements of joy
or sadness, for everything was shared here;
you were my confessor!

I still talk to you now
and when the world seemed, as though to turn in anger on me,
I would come and sit in your chair and speak;
telling you of my fears.

Your philosophy was,
‘remember the past, look to the future, live in the now!’
Today – now - I am remembering you;
that alone, gives me strength.

It is time now, too leave;
this sanctuary, is no longer ours to dominate.
New faces, new secrets, will be shared here
and I hope, as much love.

:) Everyone can relate to this, nobody really likes leaving their home, it means leaving a lot of love, memories and good times doesn't it. Though the sentiment will always follow you wherever you go. How've you been anyway mate, don't see much of you on here nowerdays, is the family doing good?

Hey Pinda, how are you man. I'm good, been through a real rough patch but hopefully out the other side now and trying to get back into things. I got some serious catching up to do with all the stuff on here. I see a lot of the old names and a LOT of new ones.
How are you doing, last I heard I think you were in England, putting down some tracks for an album. How is the music/rap business doing...I'm gonna have to get that 'Blackbird' out again hahaha..
Stay well, my friend, talk to you soon.

Chris ;)

This one grabbed me and kept hold of me long after I finished it so I came back for another read. Excellent piece of work.

Has a very honest feel to it, as if you were just talking aloud, I really like it.
