Knock and the door will be opened to you;(Luke 11:9)

When young and in spiritual dread
I remember this passage being read
so I knocked and it worked
and it left me quite perked
when the bouncer stuck out his big head.

"Ask and it will be given to you; (Luke 11:9)

Very much in the mood of, ‘Chin chin!’
I queried, ‘Hi can I come in?’
He looked me up and down;
said, ‘Fuck off, you clown
or you’ll end up asleep in that bin!’

Seek and you will find;(Luke 11:9)

I asked; although feeling undone
‘Can you suggest doing something that’s fun?’
He said, ‘Forget charms
go, find some small arms
then blow your brains out, with a gun!’

"May no one ever eat fruit from you again." (Mark:11:14)

Christianity’s alive and is well
but always remember; there’s Hell
and just for the nonce,
it was a bald bouncer’s bonce;
with two fingers, I cursed him farewell

Well done Chris; I just love the rhyming, it has both a modern and archaic feel with it. 'I cursed him farewell'... marvellous ending.

Hehe, an interesting poem. Luckily, being a Jehovah’s Witness, I don't believe in hell, so this poem is a bit less scary ;-)

I'm sure you're right there Chris - Hell is on earth and in man's imagination. It doesn't have to be real to be terrifying.
Anyway - I like this a lot. It's complex and I shall come back to it:)
