Would that we, could wake to see
the morning sun as one
but time and tide and fate abide;
so thus, are dreams undone.
As I gaze, out through the haze
my heart doth winsome sigh,
as vapour trails leave downy tails
across Atlantic skies.
I fancy then, I hear again,
the soft lilt of your voice
and tremulous, it speaks of us,
as though, there were but choice.
What will be, will surely be,
when all the gods conspire
to kindle fears, while using tears
to douse love’s passion fire.
Yet my soul clings to its goal
no impasse, will it cede.
Seek not hence, for sentience,
for all is lost but need.

I hear the yearning Chris. Nice one. I especially like:
to kindle fears, while using tears
to douse love’s passion fire.'

Thanks Cman, great to hear from you again and thanks for taking the time to read and comment; I know that poetry as opposed to stories were not your favourite passtime, so doubly chuffed that you take the time to read and comment, cheers mate1
