The stranger is gone from the garden,
it lightened my heart; his going.
We had made him, cheery welcome,
amongst the eggnog, flowing.
But I tired of his presence here,
I fear,he had no earthly soul.
He left behind, his hat and scarf,
a carrot and two coals.

Was his name 'Frosty' by any chance;-)
I like this, Chris. It has a certain poignancy. I too am enjoying seeing my green fields again, and I do hope the weather forecast for this part of the world is wrong. More snow, they say...but certainly no more snowmen;-)

Thanks Tina, ;) Please don't mention 'more snow', I've had my fill of it for at least another year. XXXX

I agree, Chris! Though my snow days were fun ;) Like the structure of this one - the two stanza split is very effective!

I agree about the snow, I don't want any more!
I enjoyed this. I particularly like the first two lines of the second stanza

Snow makes travel hard, but I was creative with it myself, my toes almost fell off I got so carried away sculpting. I don't mind it so much if I can get warm after. It's an excuse to skip work.
