Addiction

A day off it and the body craves,
Dragging me to the pit, more so to the grave.
It seems as if I am hollow from within,
'It' staring at me with a sarcastic grin.
As if to say,
'It's time to take me in,
Else your efficiency will become thin.'
"If I take you now,
All that resistance will be gone." Is what I reply.
'The more you resist, the more you crave,
The more you crave, the more you look,
The more you look, the more I stare,
The more I stare, the more you crave!'
"Yes you are right,
But it's this craving that I have to fight."
'You live on me and will die on me,
Have me and I will set you free!'
The craving was subsidizing now
and so was the need,
I will never have you again
and that's the ultimate way to be free.
Burnt it up,
Threw it away,
It's just a piece of trash now,
Never again to be seen in the tray

Really love the structure of this one, Vidit! The idea of a conversation is very effective, especially these lines:

''The more you resist, the more you crave,
The more you crave, the more you look,
The more you look, the more I stare,
The more I stare, the more you crave!''

Well done ;)
