“Just a little further”, thought Tom, reaching out his gloved hand towards the fragile, floating object that had earlier slipped out of his grasp and was now drifting off into deep space.
“Don’t worry about it, Tom”, said his co-pilot, Sandra, into her intercom as she stood upon the lunar surface looking up, “It’s only a flower”.
But then she saw Tom returning, propelled by the thrusters on his jet pack, with the single red rose held firmly in the glove of his space suit and, placing his feet firmly, once again, upon the moon, he handed the flower to her, “It’s the first rose that was ever grown upon the moon”, he said, “And I grew it for you”.
“Tom!”, said Sandra, sternly, “Going after that flower was a very foolish thing to do. You could have been killed!”.
Their space helmets bumped together. It was not easy kissing with space helmets on but they couldn’t help themselves because the moon had cast it’s bewitching, romantic spell over them.

Thanks, Jenny. I'm glad you liked it. I was hoping to write a few Romance stories in Fantasy/Sci-Fi settings.

Thanks, oldpesky.
I've always loved space suits. I had a toy NASA space suit/helmet when I was a kid and I've always loved astronaut movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Capricorn 1, there's just something iconic about that gold-fish bowl helmet.
