The Flower Children Are Born - Part 1

from the ABC set The Flower Children

Many yesterdays ago, in a magical forest lived a wise old woman called Clara who had no children
but had devoted herself to caring for all the plants and the animals of the forest.

“You are my children”, she said to the trees and the flowers.

“And you are my children”, she said to the birds and the animals.

But though she was not unhappy with her life there was still a part of her that yearned for human children and Mother Nature knew this.

So, as a reward for all her kindness to the creatures of the forest, Mother Nature sent down three magical drops of rain from the starry heavens; one that landed within a rose; one that fell within a lilly and one that was caught in a violet and then, out of the rose, came an infant girl with bright red hair and green eyes whom the old woman named Rose and out of the lily crawled a baby girl with jet black hair and brown eyes whom the old woman called Lilly and out of the violet came a newborn girl with golden hair and blue eyes whom she called Violet.

And, for many years; Rose, Lilly and Violet lived with the old woman in her little toadstool shaped cottage at the edge of the magical forest and so gentle, good natured and kind were the three girls
that there wasn’t a single day that the old woman didn’t thank the sun and the moon and the stars
for sending them.

Dear John,

you have excelled yourself, I think you have written
this just for me, its as if magic dust has been
given you and you've been magically transported to
a world I love so much.

This is the start of one of the best stories I have
read in a long time.

Please don't stop. I know it's hard when someone
asks for more, because it puts you under pressure,
but this is such a wonderful read.

What can I say? but thankyou...thankyou...thankyou.

Jenny.

Thank you too, Jenny. I'm very glad that you liked this opening chapter. I really wanted to make a series of stories like Petticoat Junction/Gilligans Island/Lost In Space where the protagonists stay in one place and visitors come from outside. Hope that future chapters don't disappoint.
