1st Verse
Once I was such a lonely boy
and Yuletide was no time of joy
but then the Holly King left me
a gift under my Yuletide tree.
It was a magic mistletoe
tied with red ribbon in a bow.
It made all my wishes come true.
Now my Yuletide’s are never blue.
Chorus:
Ho, ho, the magic mistletoe;
makes the hearts of pretty maidens glow.
All the girls who used to boo and hiss
now want to give me a Yuletide kiss.
Ho, ho, the magic mistletoe
makes the hearts of pretty maidens glow.
Now I’ve got a girl upon my arm
and it’s all thanks to that good luck charm.
2nd Verse:
Now Yuletide’s a fun time of year;
you’ll always find me in good cheer.
I’ve got my lady by my side
and wear my mistletoe with pride.
Now, when the Winter Solstice comes
and it gets gloomy, I’m not glum.
No, I go dancing through the snow
thanks to my magic mistletoe.
Chorus:
Ho, ho, the magic mistletoe;
makes the hearts of pretty maidens glow.
All the girls who used to boo and hiss
now want to give me a Yuletide kiss.
Ho, ho, the magic mistletoe
makes the hearts of pretty maidens glow.
Now I’ve got a girl upon my arm
and it’s all thanks to that good luck charm.

Thank you, Jenny. I hoped you'd like it. I'm trying to move away from Christmas and Santa Clause towards other non-Christian Winter traditions.
I might start with the Holly King because he, mixed with St Nicholas, became the modern Father Christmas
and so he's kind of Santa Clause-y.
Very glad that you enjoyed it and I wouldn't mind some magical mistletoe either.

Thankyou, pia.
For all its failings, Christmas is a time of great happiness for many and I'm always happy to spread a little cheer.
