It was weird to be a ghost haunting oneself. She had just watched herself gestating inside an incubator, seen her infant breath steam up the glass and looked deep into her
own newly opening eyes.
“What shall we call this one joked a man in a yellow bio-hazard suit”, peering in to her
glass womb and smirking through his visor.
F45510N is what they had christened her. No wonder that she, like so many tube children, had chosen to change her name into something a bit more human.
“I feel like I could just pick up a vibro-hammer and smash that damn thing and put an end to this silly masquerade of my life”, she’d said, wiping tears from her contact lenses.
“Thankfully, there is such a thing as the “Grandfather” Paradox”, the old man had told her, “Can’t go back and kill yourself as a child or any of your ancestors but while we still have life, I find, we usually have hope. Just think that in a few days from this date the Senate of San Fairy Ann will pass a historic act that will ban the cloning of human beings for organ harvesting and, instead of being a spare part for someone else, you are given the opportunity of a life”.

Have you seen the movie "The Island" with Ewan
McGregor? Its about clones who have to escape
being used as 'spare parts' and in the movie
'Coma' which is a non-SF movie set in this universe,
starring a young Michael Douglas, homeless people
are abducted and murdered to sell their organs.
It's a scary universe indeed but an old and not implausible idea.

About "Coma"- it is a film (I have not seen it) which I am sure is based on facts as this does happen in different countries around the globe. I have read about it. Oh dear maybe I HAVE seen the film and am getting mixed-up about fact and fiction. Have you heard about it as a fact? Sorry if I am a bit vague but it is a very scary scenario. Haven't seen "the Island". Usually I'm not much of a SF fan but this has a clearer relevans to modern times. I also like that you have used elements from the classical SF like Orwell and a bit of Ray Bradbury colour if I am not mistaken.
Well that is my impression anyway. really very unique writing and I need something that is easy to read and comprehend.I think I have understood your outlook and I can only agree with you on almost all counts both about the present and what we need for the future. If there were more writers with your intelligence and talent then I am sure we would be able to make a lot more progress towards the better in the world- with a better awareness and more humane approach to rectifying the evil doings.
I am very impressed by your talent- hope this means something to you?

I've heard about the Chinese selling the organs of executed prisoners and of terribly poor people selling organs for money. I'm quite sure that it
goes on and, I agree, it is terrible and inhumane.
However, what I was really interested in was a clones search for identity and spiritual fulfilment/
meaning.
Thanks for the compliment. Your comments and kind words are always helpful and encouraging. I am very grateful for all of them.
