Peace & The Nightingale

from the ABC set Poems

Peace and the nightingale sing in harmony with each other,
reminding me of infancy and the cooing of my mother.
Thank goodness; like memories of my loved ones that live on,
I’ll always have the cheerful, little nightingale’s sweet song.

A likeable note of optimism - refreshing at the moment. Unstrained rhyme scheme too by the way, well done for that.

This is such a lovely sentimental piece of writing

Thanks, Scratch. This poem was kind of dashed off on the back of an envelope, so I'm glad it was worth posting it on ABCtales. Very glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks, Jenny. I was listening to a nightingale singing and the words, more or less, popped into my head. Very glad you liked it.
