Three Triplets

from the ABC set Children's Poems

Tom-Tom, Tip-Top and Flip,
three triplets, took a trip
inside a shoe shaped ship
and took their pet pig Pip.

They skipped to Mermaid land
and ate marmalade sand-
wiches and seaweed tea
which made them quite queasy.

They skipped to Patchwork land
where gloves gave them a hand
to escape capes and fly
on a flapping bowtie.

They skipped to Circus Town
and met the queen of clowns,
a juggling octocat
and acrobatic bats.

Then all three felt snoozy
so, off back home, they sped
to sleep, snug and cosy
in their three little beds.

I love the staccato rhythm through this piece, Mermaid land is was my favourite place, despite the seaweed sandwiches!

Thanks Maggy, it was very much inspired by the Nursery Rhyme "Wynken, Blynken and Nod".

Glad you enjoyed it.
