My children are a punishment
I visit on the world
The progeny of giants
But greater than their sire
My eldest's grim embrace
Enfolds whole countries in its coils
So every sinuous movement
Causes continents to quake
My son is a chained wolf
Who still chews the hand of god
And the breaking of his shackles
Will bring rainbows down to ruin
My daughter builds a palace drear
And names it for herself
In a realm bereft of heroes
An army musters without swords
My own stepfather binds me
To this tree with a serpent
Draped upon bare branches
Dripping venom in my eyes
My wife yet stands beside me
Catching poison in a bowl
For my crimes are mitigated
By the need for heaven's fall
