Kicking Down The Door

from the ABC set 2007

The poem opens with me kicking down
the door and executing a fluid
forward shoulder roll, from which I rise, gun
first, checking out each corner of this verse.

There is a fading power chord, followed
by a slow funk beat, as I crabwalk to
the window and realise the subject
of this stanza has skipped and fled the heat.
