The Universe Is Not Enough

You would think the universe is not enough;
The way we keep inventing stuff
To fill the void inside our head,
When we would be better off, if instead
Of creating elaborate stories,
We concentrated on the greater glories
That ordinary life shows us clearly;
Without fantasy or theory
To distract us from the simple view:
It does not matter if we have no clue
Where we came from, or where we are going;
What matters is the growing, not the knowing.
