I am king

from the ABC set The enlightened man

I am king

I am no one,
I am nothing,
I am like fire kindling the morning,
Breathe though and I alight,
Fuel me and I am heat,
Split me and my heat will spread,
Among the golden sheaf's of grass wheat,
I will burn from the breath you gave
I will ease as the time passes through the day,
Forever a flame,
Yet built from clay,

I am but a man,
Yet I lay with no woman,
I am a boy,
Yet I have no father,
I am a son,
Born from the earth mother

I am no one,
Not a thing,
I am a trickle of water,
First signs of dew,
The first damp spring,
Rain on me and I will gush,
I will be the oceans,
I will dowse the burning bush,
I will extinguish the fire,
That I claimed once to be,
I am no one,
No one you could be.

I like this - repetition really drives it on. :-)
