Warped driftwood

from the ABC set Yutka's poems

A stoppage in the passage of time;
warped, drifting, wooden
driftwood
distorted time,
moving in low and high tide
from one shore to the next
nothing much has changed
since birth, since death
drifting, floating,
rubbing, splintering,
smoothing, depleting
all those thoughts abreast
loosely used, a touch
a movement, deflect
a glance, lost forlorn
in the waves
of abundance
