All Blacks vs. British Lions

My national team ‘The Springboks’ are not faring well at the moment. In a recent tour to Europe and the UK we lost virtually all our games, and in recent times we have lost against weaker teams such as Japan and Italy. Everybody is blaming the coach and nothing will be done to replace him as he still has a few years left on his contract. These are the current woes of the green-and-gold. Gone is the glory of former years.

A series that will indeed be worth watching however, is the upcoming tour of the British and Irish Lions to New Zealand where they will be playing several tests against the All Blacks.  A strong British Lions side is always a team to be reckoned with and we will no doubt see some class rugby. The Kiwis have been number one in the world for more than twenty years and are always formidable opponents. As such we have a humdinger of a tour on our hands.

In my opinion there are too many games leading up to the tests against provincial sides and the like. This may lead to burn-out and injuries which would not be ideal before the actual test matches begin. Fewer preliminary games might have been a more prudent option.

Nonetheless the series promises to be packed full of punch and excitement, and well worth watching. Here’s hoping that the Lions can give a good account of themselves and display some thrilling rugby to the crowd.

The All Blacks seem invincible but we'll see. The British Lions must be the strongest team in the world. The Springbucks also have been faring a lot better recently. I enjoy my rugby and it's a way to show that you are normal i.e. to prove you sanity.

Cheers & Nolan

After yesterday's win for the Lions the series is now level at one all. Next Saturday's test will be the decider and final game and is sure to be the highlight of the series. This will be a match well worth watching and it could go either way. May the best team win!

A draw for the series against the All Blacks is not a bad result. It shows that the British Lions is still among the best teams in the world!
