Another day of reckoning

I'm gonna know a lot more about my journey after Thursday. I'm prepaing for the worst and hoping for the best. Prepaing for the worst is quite an exercise while playing the waiting game. It certainly adds urgency to my writing and living as the idea of a "deadline" takes on more meaning. Life is precious of course and I'm gonna fight for mine. I have much more confidence in doctors these days. I'm over the phobia that they are trying to hurt me...

Positive

Here's my original post on ABC tales that I want to keep private except for the blog. I'm gonna erase the original from the site and leave it here instead. Remember to keep this on the low. The results are in. The envelope has been opened. The result announced. POSITIVE. Yeah, my cologard screening results returned to me today. They are what I had feared. I had all the symptoms which means I didn't have any symptom at all just like the last time...

Positive but Private

Yeah, I got a positive result on my cologard sample which immediately sets the gears a clicking. I got note from my doctor who's is setting me up with a gastroentroligist and scheduling a colonoscopy. I want this personal journey to remain a secret to my real world friends and family until we know more but the story is definitely underway and I need to relate it in a safe place. 20% of the samples yield a false positive. It's too early to panic...

Milestone

I hoped to get 200 cherrys by the time I posted 900 stories. I got my 200th yesterday which is a relief because I'd been in a cherry slump for a couple of weeks at 198. I'm gonna take some time to celebrate and be grateful for my readers and ABC tales. Ice

Staycation Writing Flood

Sometimes, I identify myself as a "writer". I've published a book. I've taught creative writing. I've got 716 stories on ABC tales. I've got hundreds of other fragments waiting around to be developed. I write every other day usually for about two hours. I've been wondering lately what it would be like if I took a week and just wrote as much as I could. Finished up a few fragments and just kept going. Ya know, the kinda thing that "real writers"...

French in the Background

A week or so ago I decided to exercise my lack in knowledge of the French language. I wasn't sure I was going to do it until I noticed the instrumental L'Amour Est Bleu was palying on our system and the title appeared. So i began merging my "french" with a fake Tale of Two Cities back story. I used most of the French vocab that I possessed, with a big thanks to Paul McCartney. Then I started to recall what went wrong in my education de Francais...

Took a break from Dosteovksy last night

and read from the humble e version of Full Filer and was as relieved as I was proud. My book is already a best seller as some of the best people that I know have informed me that they are reading/have read the book. When re-reading the book last night it gave me great pleaure to imagine myself "reading along" with those who have enjoyed the book. I'd come to a certain passage and think "Oh I bet she liked that part' or "I don't know if anybody...

Quiet......Too Quiet

It's quiet out here....Too quiet. I haven't heard much from ABC kin since I published my book and even less regarding my last few stories. Hope evrerybody is okay. The last three pieces I've written starting with Groomin' in Progress are continuations of a series of idea that just keeps developing and has more or less possessed my imagination for the last week or so and it shows no signs of letting up. The whole thing is going to end up one long...

Hobbs and Dobbs

Let’s go back oh five million years or so to the moment when the first alpha monkey learned to voluntarily contract the small muscles at the base of his hair follicles which caused the first intentional, political piloererction. His hair stood on end which made him appear a lot bigger than he actually was. After the bristle, he went semi-berserk and started making threatening moves towards every other monk in his immediate vicinity. The male...

Pandemic Publication

Well, this whole thing is real after all. I got my author's copy sent to me yesterday. Yup there's something magical about getting the publication in your hands rather than e format. My daughter and I had to learn how to do this from scratch and that's what I love most about it. For many, many years people have been telling me that I should get this story published or that essay published. I've had many letters to various editors published and...
