'Going Out' Music
Might be a bit of a yoof thread but I'll give it a whirl anyway (prove me wrong oldsters!)
OK.. it's Friday/Saturday Night.. around 8ish you are just about to perform the three S's.. the feint rustle of rolled fivers over amphetamine sulphate and the clink-clink of vodka bottles can be heard downstairs. Someone somewhere is making toast or perhaps something more elaborate like pasta. You stroll over to the stereo clutching a bunch of tapes and/or CD's, your nostrils registering a whiff of mystery/expectation (or perhaps the bin just needs emptying)
OK, I'll cut to the chase.. what do you put on? What prepares you for the evenings festivities?

Come on... The Smiths are amazing. Embrace your inner Morrissey. And they're songs are not all for walking home in the rain - Frankly Mr Shankly is a ripping party tune and Unhappy Birthday is suitable for all anniversaries.
Otherwise 'Kiss' by Prince has to be the supremo pre going out song. "You don't have to watch Dynasty to have an attitude." Greatest. Lyric. Ever.

oh well.. you can't please em all ..or make them all miserable. Hand in Glove and This Charming Man are two of the bounciest Smiths tracks around tho. But yeah.. the one about the moors murders is going it a bit. How about Exile on Main St? Yoof no.. Jumpy and meaningless, yes.

'Panic' - 'Girlfriend in a coma'... not exactly "going out" music but absolutely class all the same, and not nearly as depressing as the titles might have you believe.

Smiths is lad's music . I have nothing against them mind - their one song is fine. Someone who died a death left his Smiths album here and hasnt the guts to come back for it! I would only play it now if I was trying to get round someone.
