Work blues ;) highs and lows..

I've been working on the railway
all the live long day - and overhead
the sound of the aircraft passing -
beats the metre in my head.
.
Scans the line with humour-
curtains the edge of noise -
drowns the kittens of disaster
with petal fresh winter snow.
.
Yet in this stream of consciousness
the odd idea grows and develops,
classifies into strata, shows the circles
of age. Trains go by. Wheels spin.
.
Now I'm too tired to cry.
I wrote a letter
it's the third time I've tried.
