To Understand America

If you want to understand America, you need to understand the Constitution.
If you want to understand the Constitution, you need to understand the Founding Fathers.
The Founding Fathers were visionary leaders and aristocrats.
They knew America needed a clear leader…thus the office of President.
They also were against tyranny so they needed a check on executive power that could be provided by the “people”.
“People” needed representation…thus the House of Representatives.
As aristocrats themselves, the Founders knew that an aristocratic condition must be preserved which means you can’t give too much power to the people because the “people” can get all kinds of crazy and impulsive and pissed off and do something stupid in the heat of fashion and passion.
The Founders needed a mechanism to chill out the ”people” so that they didn’t tip over the apple cart or try to take from the aristocrats what the aristocrats had earned with their birthrights, their intelligence, their education etc so to chill, we’ll use two “cool” guys from each state and we’ll call that group of cool cats the Senate.
The Senate, like the aristocrats, needs stability so need fewer members then the mob of “people” fistfighting in the House. Furthermore, the cool guys of the Senate will have terms longer than the members of the House of Representatives because the House of Representatives represents the “people” and the people are always getting all excited and stirring up all kinds of shit and punching each other out and making up again and dealing directly with all the unprotected crapola that the aristocrats through their wealth and bearing are shielded.
So the House can have a complete turnover every two years whereas the Senate will never lose more than 1/3 of its members after any election, not including the fools who voluntarily quit such a good gig.
And then the leader, the “people” and the “cool guys”…the President, the House and the Senate can figure things out as best they can and if there’s a real big problem we’ll get a bunch of “smart guys” to make decisions and check out laws and those smart guys, the judicial branch needs stability because if the laws of the land change every couple years (or weeks if the “people” get a hold of them) then there is no law in the land.
Understand?
It’s simple really.
It’s America.
