Fifth Grade Understanding

Saying that he has the understanding of a "fifth or sixth grader" is not the worst thing I've heard said about our President.
When I was in college, I learned to save money on science textbooks which usually cost a lot and were unreadable to me. No plot...no emotion....no literary devices....zero irony....no climax etc.
Plus they usually cost a lot of money which could be spent on beer.
Instead of buying the required text books, I would visit the Milne library at SUNY Geneseo and take out the most elementary science books I could find. For example, after being confused and alienated by the Physical Science course text taught by Rod Roddy, I went to the library and took out a sixth grade level book called "Rocks".
When I went to class, I would wait for the moment when Roddy stumbled on to something that I knew something about and I would answer his questions in the most elementary way possible, often earning recognition from both the teacher and my fellow students for my ability to simplify things.
I wasn't going for an A mind you.
I was trying to get a required course out of the way with as little damage as possible while I pursued my own plans which usually included euchre, naps, music and trips uptown.
All I wanted was a C in the required coursework so that I could continue to carouse in the fantasy world known as college.
Mission accomplished.
I had more money and more time to spend in academic, elective subjects that I had interest in pursuing....creative writing...journalism.....h
I made it through intact.
Didn't learn that much about rocks but learned a lot about rock while I rolled through four years
Plus, I learned the value of simplicity and as a bonus, I still sorta know what an igneous rock is.
Learned the value of simplicity and still sorta know what an igneous rock is.
Pretty sure ol' Donald sorta knows what the constitution is.

there's a simplicity in
there's a simplicity in simplicity that's very simple, like your president. But his brand is toxic.
