Happy Death Day 2 u

The something that Happy Death Day 2 u offers is surprise. I didn't see HDD2u at the theater. Didn't even know that it played and wouldn't have seen it if it had played. Who needs another college kids threatened by masked slasher film? I know that I don't. Especially a sequel.
Somehow, Lynn had snuck in an under the radar Netflix viewing of the original Happy Death Day. When she noticed that HDD2 u was available on Netflix, she insisted that we watch it. I resisted timidly but I should have known better with a girl like Lynn. She said the first one was great and we needed to see if the first one was just a fly in her critical ointment.
She tried to explain the original and her explanation evaded my attention. We "decided" to give it a chance which was all that Lynn was saying in the first place.
It probably would have helped if I had seen the first one but the sequel got my attention in a hurry. How can I describe what I was watching. Let's go with a fake Brittany Spears goes to college, black comedy, science fiction, slasher satire, nerd revenge, time loop, millenial Ground Hog Day that shifts dimensions in order to solve a mystery and pose existential questions.
Yeah, that's about right.
And somehow, the whole thing is alot of fun to watch. Christopher Landon directed both films and they both star a returning ensemble cast spearheaded by Jessica Rothe. Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves throughout the making of the movie.
The movie gets a little twisted out of shape as it speeds towards conclusion and HDD3 but what the hell it's pretty hard to explain and in the end doesn't really matter.
Lynn was right. We didn't have to spend money. We didn't waste two hours.
Surprise, surprise.

Its admirable that you'll give anything a go... doesn't sound like my kind of thing.
