Bang Bang Thank You Ma'am

Tuesday afternoons have been special times for Lynn and me since we moved down South. We visit the mall town of Birkdale and go to a matinee then we stop over at Bonefish grill where I always get an order of bang bang shrimp while we discuss the movie and our plans for the week. The pandemic has altered all of that and I chalked it up to societal sacrifice until Lynn came up with this idea.....let's rent a recent movie and have Bonefish deliver our lunch. Such a simple and clear idea/remedy.
In the meantime, Lynn went outside and worked on her garden while I went up to the cave and began yet another round of digital solitaire.
Lynn finished her gardening and took a shower. I woke up from my nap. We called Bonefish. They were on a limited menu so no lobster bisque. I ordered my bang bang and Lynn ordered lily chicken with a side of mac and bacon.
While we waited for the food, we tried to decide what would be an appropriate movie for our first Tuesday stayvake. The hottest movies like Quiet Place 2 are being held back by the studios although I think they're missing an opportunity. Studios should release all of those movies for tee vee rental now when people are searching for ways to pass the time in social separation yet still are willing contribute to the economy. The latest movie available was The Invisible Man which we had already seen and in lieu of the invisible enemy that we all are fighting, didn't seem like an appropriate choice plus we already saw it although it wasn't in focus which Lynn and I had fought about when we saw it at the Birkdale Regal. Just to start a little trouble, I told her that "yeah, it's inappropriate and we didn't like it the first time but maybe if we saw it IN FOCUS, we might like it better"
Lynn said "you were an asshole that day. Don't start being one again now."
It came down to Bombshell or Birds of Prey both of which star Margot Robbie. We like Margot. she's been on quite a hot streak incuding Tonya and Tarantino.
Bonefish arrived moments after we made our movie selection.
The food was good but not as good as we had grown to expect and the reason is simple. We ate the food out of the plastic containers in which it was delivered and the fact that the meal was showing up on OUR kitchen table put the meal in competition with the meals that Lynn prepares. To me, Lynn is the best of all possible cooks; so sorry Bonefish.
Yeah, the ambience was missing so if you decide to try this idea, I'd advise that you use your best dishes and silverware and maybe even light a candle because yeah, ambience counts for something.
Of course, not having to wash dishes counts for something as well.
After eating, we fired up Bombshell which proved to be a teevee movie that was released as a big screen movie the essence of which had already been covered by a tee vee movie that never made the screen with Russel Crowe starring as Roger Ailes. We preferred the Crowe version but enjoyed this one for what it was...a pandemic distraction.
Later we watched the final episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Lynn played some Words With Friends. I returned to my current solitaire addiction. We kissed goodnight. We turned out the lights and went to sleep.
Aside from the delivery person, we hadn't come within 600 feet of anybody and we had contributed to the economy.
Also, we got a coupon for a complimentary bang bang shrimp.
Who knows when or where we'll use it?

Well, Trump wants to see all
Well, Trump wants to see all the churches packed by Easter....
I have a job which means I still go to work but me and partner did have a rare weekend together. I watched The Goob ( for those in the UK it's on the iPlayer and is fab) and together we watched Animals which I liked but its inauthenticity grated. (On Prime.)
Try and enjoy your seclusion time and keep on writing to keep me entertained.

This is a lovely read, Ice.
This is a lovely read, Ice. Very human, capturing so many little details of what life is like for a lot of people now. I live on my own, so video-calling, which I'd always regarded as completely unnecessary, has become a lifeline. My son, his girlfriend and I had a remote dinner time conversation last night. It was fun.
