My neighbour Harry taught
me much about the
woods - called me ‘tadpole’
at the time. I learned
the value of a mosquito net
put worms on my hook
use a compass
and which direction a
deer went – why a loon called
out to an evening sky &.
how a pup tent could
resist the wind.
I celebrate his passing
each time I bring my sons
to meet the sky - wind & rain
and tseach them skills
learned
from Harry during
earlier days.
