Just read it. I agree, this is really first rate. It has a bit of the feel of Terry Southern's 60s novel The Magic Christian. Not the story line, mind, but the feel and texture.

Julian is one of my favourite writers on the site, and this is a piece in which, for me, he really finds his voice and lets the story have its head. An absolute corker.
